• DDBA Dinner & Awards Evening

Dixon Dynasty Basketball Academy is non-profit organization built around the principles of sportsmanship, work ethics and fun. DDBA provides an opportunity for the youth in the Academy to develop new friendships while promoting their physical and social well-being. The program was founded by Mohamed Hassan, Mukhtar Hassan and Mohamed Ismail in 2012. DDBA provides many various outlets to kids while using basketball as a tool to teach life skills needed to be productive citizens in society.


On Sunday Feb 9th 2014, DDBA held its Award and dinner to recognizing the youth in the program and it sponsor. In conclusion to an exciting season of house league, awards were handed out to the individuals who have demonstrated work ethics on and off the court. The evening was held at the beautiful Istar Restaurant Banquet Hall. Istar Restaurant has been the proud sponsors of DDBA from its early existence. Istar and son Mohamed, owners of the restaurant, have helped subsidize the cost to the family wanting to have their youths part take in the program.

The evening’s dinner was also generously provided by Istar Restaurant to the youth and their families. Special thanks also goes to Vice President of Somali Football Federation Abdirashid Hassan Hersi (Bakin) for his tireless work in helping DDBA stay motivated and inspired. His wealth of knowledge and experience working with the community has been the driving force of Dixon Dynasty Basketball Academy. It was a shinning moment for many.
